The food is delish. I've now had breakfast and lunch/dinner and it's all so good. It's an easy to walk around with and enjoy the city while you eat or comfort while you relax food. All interactions with the owner have been positive so it's makes you feel extra good about supporting small local business. Would recommend you try this if you're in the downtown area.

When I was little my mom would take us doentown on the bus every week and we would get a couple pasties. I still go and my mom who lives in VA now makes this her first stop every time she visits. I love the food and setting

Are the pastys great? Sure. Better in the winter, imho.nnThe problem is the price increases. I’ve been eating here for 18 years. If their prices had increased at the rate of inflation, then you could get a whole pasty for roughly $7.35. Instead, they cost over $9, and now there’s a highly-conspicuously located tip jar, because everyone and their mother feels entitled to tips for just doing their job, even if they accepted a poorly-paid job that traditionally was not tipped.nnYou already jacked up the price far beyond inflation, clearly someone’s being greedy, be it the landlord or the new owners; don’t try to make me feel guilty for not tipping.

Friendly staff. Tasty classic hand pies. Love the old fashion soft crusts pie filled with treats like ham, chorizo, eggs and more. Veg options available.

I love this place! The best deal for a great meal in downtown Madison. I wish everyone in town new how great this place is. Plus there are great options for vegans and vegetarians, too. Yum!
