Being given a parking ticket on a Saturday night after 9pm, because we’re parked where the parking lines were not visible under a foot of snow, and there were absolutely no signs saying otherwise, was not how I wanted to end my visit to my old hometown. The Officer was sitting in her car, waiting for us. She was incredibly rude and inhospitable, not only did she not even say hello, introduce herself, or ask if we knew we parked in a no parking zone, she refused to talk with us about the lack of signs and visible lines. She was very admit that we had spoken with someone in the theatre we had parked in front of, which we had no idea who she was even referring to and she refused to even discuss the matter further. I have never experienced such nasty behavior over something so silly as a parking ticket. If she had the time to sit and wait in the car, she had the time to be a kind and polite human being and not treat us like we were some huge nussisnce because we wanted to at the very least understand why we’re getting a parking ticket during a free parking time of the day. As an officer of the law, and the face of your community, I would have expected to be treated much more respectfully over a simple $15.
