Traveling on the Ethan Allen Express is like taking a trip back in time, but with Wifi. Rutland Station is officially unmanned, but it drops you off in the heart of Rutland's Downtown and next to the Walmart. Killington and Okemo ski resorts are nearby and accessible by bus. Alternatively you can rent a car from Green Mountain or get a car from the parking lot using Turo. A skiers dream location.
I absolutely love taking the Amtrack! All of the staff is friendly, cars are clean and it is a wonderful way travel peacefully!
Staff super friendly and train left right on time!
There's a waiting room but no ticket machines, so make sure you have your ticket printed or on your mobile phone.
I grew up there in the seventies and it was like utopia next to N Y C were I live today unfortunately
