Building had some age related issues. The owner was prompt on the response to repairs. The biggest issue was paying rent. Twice we were told we were behind on rent. We paid in cash, however once I produced the receipts, the issue was no more. Family run business and the family has a huge heart and made us feel very welcome.

Worst property rental company I have have rented from. They do not fix any problems and have refused to fix a leak I have had for quite some time. Do not rent from them.

At Handy's I was treated with kindness and dignity! Sure, they are a very busy office and the properties aren't the Ritz Carlton. But they gave me a price I can AFFORD and didn't try to screw me out of extra fees, like everyone else who is renting properties in this town! And to me, that's such a rare quality to find in a property management company I had stopped looking for it. If you want to deal with actual human beings and not a corporate machine that sees you as a credit score they can squeeze extra dollars out of, come to Handy's. They are GOOD people.

Joe Handy is in the number 1 spot for being the top Slumlord of Burlington Rentals according to Code Enforcement. In my opinion NO ONE should rent his apartments . He does the least he can do if nothing at all (Mostly Nothing ) to keep his properties up to code . His properties are CONDEMNED and torn down to the earth because he can't be bothered to repair them . I have had a great experience from renting with the Handys. Their property managers have been kind and knowledgeable. They have done an excellent job of handling all responsibilities and issues, although I have personally had none. You get what you pay for with them.
