Good food, but they don't accept credit cards

Excellent little spot with fresh food all around at low prices. Tasty black bean soup, the classics are straightforward.

Parking was good. They have plenty of street parking there on the block, and some on the side of the restaurant.nnThis is a small no frills place in the neighborhood. I think they had 4 booths to sit at. The menu was busy with all of the Spanish/English translations that it made for a tough read. I literally took a good 5 mins to try to figure out what was going on. I'm sure it's easier each trip, or maybe they're more on the take out side. Service was friendly, and I got what I needed.nnI grabbed a bottled water from the cooler, and sat down at one of the booths. They had many options in the cooler to choose from. I'm a beer, tea, water, and tequila kind of guy. I didn't see any sign of them serving liquor here.nnChips and Salsa!!!!!nnNope, not today lolnnI ordered Torta Barbacoa with lettuce, tomato, and avocado.nThe bread was soooo fresh, soft, delicious, and was thrown on the flat top so it had a nice crisp on the inside. The meat was seasoned flawlessly, moist, and just a pleasure to eat during each bite. I was sad when it was over. Top tier torta over here!!!nnI ordered the taco platter which was 3 tacos with rice and refried beans. They only had a few different choices of meat for the tacos on the menu. This is where I felt underwhelmed.nI chose the chicken.nI don't think I've tasted a better chicken taco...This meat had to be in the pot for a while, in all of the juices. My friend couldn't even confirm that it was chicken. It was a melt in your mouth flavor explosion!nBeans...salty, thick, decent. I like a little more creamy texture with some queso fresco sprinkles on top personally.nRice...soft, fluffy, serviceable. Nothing really special, just good.nnI ordered the flauta platter: 3 chicken with salad, beans, and rice.nThe flautas were fried almost too hard, yet the chicken still survived the fryer, and was good. The salad for the flautas wasn't much to write home about. I would've preferred some cheese, sour crema, and pico in there.
