Kent County is known for its agricultural history, and the Delaware Agricultural Museum in Dover is where you can learn all about this history and the impression it has left on the local culture.nnSome of the items showcased in the exhibits at this museum include artifacts, photos, documents, and agricultural-related machinery such as tractors and traditional farming equipment. You’ll also learn about the railway and the role it played in the industry.nnThere is a village depicting rural life in the late 1800s. This is where you can see an old barn, windmill, general store, farmhouse, schoolhouse, train station, church, barbershop, and blacksmith shop.

Nice little museum highlighting Delaware's agricultural history. Run by caring people and volunteers. I was there for A Farmer's Christmas, an annual event. If you're wanting bright, shiny and upscale, this isn't that type of place. But if you're interested in learning about the agricultural history of the state, this is a wonderful place to visit. The displays and facilities are carefully and thoughtfully maintained by dedicated staff and volunteers. This museum is small town America at best.

As a former city girl this museum taught me a lot. I just loved it. It was the chickens I could feed that won me over though. I plan on going back soon as soon as the weather gets warmer.

Nice place to go spend a Summer day to keep the kids occupied. There is not a lot of stuff they can touch and play with inside so depending on how young your kids are, it might not be ideal. My girls loved feeding the pig who is super social and calm. You also can actually go into the chickens little fenced in coop area and feed them as well. My daughter ended up with chicken poop all over her but it made for a nice laugh after her brief meltdown lol. The woman who was working there was SUPER nice. The school house bell is fun to ring for the kids too. They enjoy exploring the historic village outside.
