We had a 3-hour night tour of the monuments. It was perfect. Monuments at night are beautiful. We had a car and driver, in addition to the tour guide, so we got the guide’s undivided attention. The next morning, The guide took us to Mount Vernon, followed by lunch in Alexandria, and dropped us at the airport. Both tours were absolutely perfect in every detail.
Sold us tickets for a tour and then ended up being closed on the day they sold us tickets for. Told us it would be 7 - 10 days for a refund. Still waiting....
Wow. Where can I even begin....nnLet me just start by saying I'd just moved to DC (yes, during a pandemic). I had a boat tour planned where I intended to propose to my partner for early Nov and the captain of that tour canceled on me about a week before. Of course, that sent me scrambling to find alternative plans to propose before the weather turned cold. (Hey I'm from California, ok, don't give me too much of a hard time)nnI found Custom Tours of DC via an exhaustive Google search and sent a message in on November 2nd hoping for a miracle that they'd be able to put together a boat tour for me and my partner THAT SAME WEEKEND. (Mind you, I'd already gotten several No responses by this point from people who told me they were closed for the season starting on Oct 31st.)nnAdam got back to me the very next day and said he had a boat, captain, and a tour guide who'd be willing to make my proposal trip happen. After a small email issue we got everything booked on the Thursday before I planned to propose. (Crazy!)nnThey coordinated everything I needed and even helped me to disguise the photographer I'd already arranged to join as a part of the experience in a way that left my partner (and now fiancee) completely unsuspecting. Our tour guide Bob was amazing and came through with all the local food recommendations he could think of after delivering a ridiculous level of historical facts about everything DMV related. (Seriously, the guys knows more black history than me and that's saying a lot.) It was literally the most beautiful day/evening spent with an amazing crew of folks. Glenn (the captain) and Bob (the tour guide) were the most chill dudes and I honestly couldnt have imagined it turning out any better.nnCustom Tours of DC will forever be apart of me and my partner's story of getting engaged on a boat tour during the sunset as we sailed under the Fredrick Douglas bridge.nnHighly. Highly. Highly. Recommend these folks. They're the real deal.
We used Custom Tours, and they were awesome! The arrangements and itinerary were catered to our needs. The bus was impeccably clean. Tour guide Josh was the BEST! He was personable, knowledgeable, and he steered us around the crowd with ease. Bus driver Marco handled the traffic and pick up/drop off soooo well. Love the whole day!
Our group tour at night was a outstanding experience. Bob,our tour guide was the best tour guide everyone in our group had ever had. Great stories about the area, always engaging and a great sense of humor.
