I enjoyed this gallery but was disappointed that Michele Obama portrait wasn't available to see. It will be on display November 13, 2020. It was taken down so they can relocate it since its the main attraction. But overall, this gallery is a wonderful place especially if you love art like I do!
To the student of history, seeing the portraits of individuals from our nation's beginning is a powerful connection to these people. The gallery contains not only the most famous, but also important contributors in exploration and in the development of our unique American culture.

Lovely museum filled with beautiful art and sculptures. There's so much history here. Everyone was friendly and I would love to come back one day.
The art is great. Mostly for the story behind those depicted. A large number of Hudson River School painters and the largest collection of prephotograph Native American portraiture on the surface of the earth.
