Carmine's Italian Restaurant's vodka sauce (which we like to get with angel hair pasta and their homemade Italian sausage) is nothing short of a spiritual experience. My Italian family approves of this restaurant, and I kid you not, when I tried their bread, wine, and pasta for the first time, I couldn't help but shed tears of joy. The portions are huge, so even if it seems expensive at first, keep in mind that each dish feeds many many people. Servers were polite and knowledgable, and the surrounding areas is great for walking and exploring. I always seek out this restaurant whether I'm in D.C. or NYC.

The food is absolutely amazing. My daughter and her boyfriend took me to the DC restaurant. They have a lot of gluten free options including gluten free pasta. Wow! So delicious! We ordered from the gluten free menu. The portions are huge. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer. More than enough and had extra to take home.
