These guys have been my go-to for mouse traps and duplicate keys. An old fashioned hardware store with all the fixin’s tucked away in a Glover Park basement. What’s better than that? Knowledgeable and always helpful staff, plus great rewards program. For projects big and small, ACE, does indeed, remain the place. Best small hardware store in the District. Hands down.

The Glover Park Ace Hardware is EXCELLENT. I have always had a good experience at this store. I am so grateful that they are open during this Covid crisis. I want to give a shout out to the team members at the store this morning (5/17/20). I was standing in line waiting to check out and witnessed a customer in front of me have a temper tantrum over the price of disposable face masks. This person went on a rant about price gouging, is this store a franchise, who is the ownership, “I thought a community store like Ace would be better”, etc. It was upsetting to watch because this customer essentially implied that the Ace employees were not members of our community and not worthy of the respect and patience that they showed to this customer. As this customer was walking out I asked if they had ever considered that Ace could possibly be selling the masks at cost. The reply was “I doubt it.” The price of the face masks does not matter. The reality of the situation is that the DC Ace Hardware ownership is probably doing the best they can to keep their employees safe and that the employees are putting their own heath and the health of their families at risk to serve the community - a community that I consider them to be a part of. The store ownership will be lucky if they are able to keep all of their pre covid employees employed. Please show the employees at Glover Park Ace Hardware respect and avoid taking out your personal anxiety on them.
