Van Buren Police Department

I've spoken to 2 dispatchers in the 3 years I've lived here. In my opinion they are rude. And the Male dispatch I spoke to today sounded like he could care less which made me feel like what I was worried about wasn't serious enough to even warrant a police officer checking it out. So here's a shout out to the rude dispatch of Van Buren, AR. So if you have scammers wanting to knock on your door DO NOT call the Van Buren Police Dispatch. They could care less.

My wife and I were driving Thur from Flordia monday evening and stopped at Colton's steak house for dinner, well I locked my keys in my vehicle. I called the Van Buren police department to see if they could assist me with my embarrassing problem and they dispatched an officer in a few minutes. We were on our honeymoon on the first week of July, 2006 and I was in some discomfort on the interstate . I was in a hurry to find a hospital and I was stopped by Officer Michael Bowman. Immediately he saw a problem and ordered me to follow him and he took us to a hospital. I am sure I would never have found one had he not intervened.nThey kept me there for about 18 hours of intense testing. My wife was sure I was having a heart attack and the officer was in total agreement.nI don’t recall if I ever took the time to thank him properly. Today 10/23 I was using a shopping cart to bring water from Walmart to my apartment across the street and was stopped by one of their police officers who informed me that the reason he stopped me was for using a Walmart shopping cart and that taking one of their shopping carts across the street to my home was illegal and against the law. He asked for my ID and informed me that it was illegal to use a Walmart shopping cart to walk across the street and that is the reason he had the right to stop me. I wish the POLICE would waste as much time arresting real criminals and be productive with their time rather than harassing INNOCENT people for using shopping carts. TOTALLY DISGUSTED and totally 100% out of line. I wish he would take more of his time finding REAL CRIMINALS
