Extremely interesting. Buddy was the best tour guide, very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
In a state known for its diamonds, the Hemingway-Pheiffer home/museum is particularly brilliant.. The Museum is a shining example of well-preserved, lovingly cared-for buildings and artifacts of another era. It is a standing tribute to the Pheiffer family who made the house their home, led by compassionate and enterprising example, and welcomed the young writer, Ernest Hemingway, into their home, as a son.nnAs a writer of guidebooks, I can tell you that Buddy stunned me with his broad and encompassing knowledge. He was delightful, deep, and engaging. Please book with him if you get the chance. He filled in gaps in my own knowledge and added interesting details that make me want to return for more. I think many people will feel the same.nnShannon, Karen, and Teresa, the staff at the Museum and at the Karl and Matilda Pheiffer property adjoining the museum property, were so warm and welcoming and made my friend and me feel a little like “sons” too, finally come home to this welcoming place. What a wonderful experience.
Buddy our tour guide was nothing short of excellant. Informative and entertaining. A wealth of knowledge. He made the tour a must do. Thx.
This site is wonderful and well worth the drive to get there! Mr Buddy's tour was fascinating, educational and inspiring. The Hemingway anecdotes were very interesting but the story of his in-laws was the true revelation. They were true philanthropists and the efforts they went to help the surrounding area during the Great Depression were astounding. I would highly recommend diverting of the beaten track to check out this wonderful museum.
Really great museum experience! The tour was full of interesting information about the Pfeiffer family and their many impacts on the history of the United States as well as their influence on the life of Ernest Hemingway. I highly recommend visiting and asking for Buddy as a guide; he presented an abundance of information in a fun and interesting way!
