Alice Springs Desert Park

If you are ever in Alice Springs you MUST visit here. A fantastic park with an impressive backdrop of the MacDonnell Ranges. Brilliant service from all the park attendants and keepers. I was so impressed by the keepers and their willingness to have a genuine chat with you about their animals. Go in the morning if you are visiting during the summer months as it is hot!!! But the chilled water fountains around the park will quench your thirst! This made the heat bearable as we walked around the park taking in most of the daily presentations and activities! The Free Flying Bird Show is spectacular and should not be missed! We also had the opportunity to travel around the park with Doug and he gave us an incredible insight to Aboriginal culture and where to find food in the desert! REALLY AMAZING! We also had the pleasure of listening to how the park is fighting to save animals from extinction, in particular the Mala which is now extinct in the wild! Without their efforts we'd lose another Aussie marsupial. The Nocturnal House is the best I've ever seen. Sincerely a fantastic day out. Highly Recommend!

The bird show is a must! Amazing how can they train those birds to fly just above your head! Seeing a flying owl is a beautiful moment! Although the heat was nearly unbearable today, we have still enjoyed this place a lot!

One of the nicest animal parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. So well done that you can forget that you're in a park and not actually in the bush. The shows and talks are all great. Especially the bird show, try not miss this one. The staff are so friendly and polite. My second visit and it has gotten better. Don't come to Alice and miss this place.

This place was better than I expected, kept my 4 kids entertained for an extended period which is no small feat. Lists of animals, lots of birds, great nocturnal display, the opening birds of prey talk was worth the admission price alone.

amazing resort but i think the camping ground pool should be under cover it was 40 degrees for most to of the days we were there. also under cover playground so the kids dont burn themselves. we m,ainly stayed in our caravan as there wasnt enough indoor activities
