The Matriarch

Our family had a lovely evening for a belated Mother's Day, cocktails fun, food delivered in good time, presented well, good sizes and delicious. Would like to make mention of the special effort and safe care for my daughter-in-law with specific allergies that she was able to enjoy the evening and her food and drink. Also special mention to our delightful waitress who had our sense of humour and was very attentive. The venue and decor is very nice indeed. Would recommend absolutely.

Today, I hosted a high tea for my granddaughter’s 16th birthday. From the ease of online booking, through to the interest, care and extra attention we received, we felt as if we were the only guests in the cafe. The food was dainty and delicious and beautifully served. Our every request was granted and the afternoon was an absolute delight. Our granddaughter was thrilled.nSincere thanks to everyone who made our afternoon so enjoyable.

Lovely lunch with my family... only concern was the bathroom hand dryer which overcame the music every time someone used it...also service to clear was a little slow. Great concept though and will be back.

Dinner experience was great here. The environment and ambience is a reason to visit, even just for a small bite or drink. Thanks to the Matriarch and owner for being so accommodating with booking arrangements prior (a few changes and requests).nnService is very prompt and efficient (ordering and paying online) - interactions with waiters are quite minimal, I personally found it nice to have some peace without any interruptions from staff (unless being given food/drinks).nnFood and drinks are great - cauliflower bites (SO addicting), chicken skewers and cheeseboard are very well portioned. Cocktails are fun to taste and look at - definitely another reason to visit and experience.nVariety of food options is somewhat limited in my opinion - so hopefully the menu expands further as the venue matures.nnWould definitely recommend coming to taste experience.

The $45 high comes with little food accompanied with poor staff attitude.nFor $45 you have:n1 tiny scone. Jam and creamnA tiny croissantnA tiny burger. Made of a slice of cucumber and a rocket leaf.nA small chocolate pastrynPetite deserts, that taste watery.nA glass of wine.nAnd free tea and coffee, so grab the value where you can. Just don’t take too long ordering the coffee or staff will get impatient.nSuper disappointed with what looks to be a beautiful venue.
