Nail Society (Chermside)

Second time at nail society. Both times felt friendly and comfortable staff. Loved my nails. And great communication to understand what I was after.

I went here about 3-4 weeks ago to get my usual gel infill on my natural nails and the service wasn't bad but wasn't great. I have recently taken the gel off my nails to find that I now have a nail fungus, due to the lack of / poor cleaning of utensils that were used. This is extremely disappointing as I have been getting my nails done for years at a handful of locations and this has never happened to me. Being my first time to Nail Society, it isn't good enough - especially in a time of a Global Pandemic when we should all be cleaning and sterilizing equipment more. Additionally, this has left me with a daily inconvenience which will take weeks or months to get rid of, as well as stopping me from getting my nails done for this time period. Not good enough for a nail bar as busy as they are.

A friend and I got a full set of acrylics and shellac pedi done today and had such a great experience! All three ladies that served us were lovely and they did an amazing job - by far the best nail salon I’ve been to. Thank you ☺ufe0f

Nice set up from the outside. Cool colour selection. The “cash only” thing on sundays shoulda been a subtle warning. Extremely disappointing service. Was getting a refill & 2 replacement tips. Politely suggested that maybe the replacement tips were longer than my other nails. I could tell by flipping my hand over to look at the over-hang. I’m not a nail salon rookie, I can tell these things and only bother speaking up if it’s really off. Was told by the technician that it’s ok, measured from the nail bed and will look the same when painted. I said I understand but it looks a bit long still on the right and held up the overhang to show the difference. He huffed, pulled his facemask down, rolled his eyes and raised his voice to say “I literally just explained it to you”. Who. Says. That. Honestly I wish I walked out. I replied with “ok ok you do your thing as long as they match” and was pretty seethingly silent for the rest. After talking a lot of sh!t about me to his colleagues (I understand the universal language of tone), he attempted to smooth it over coz he knows he messed up but it wasn’t genuine... and I met it with the same disingenuous nod & smile as I wanted to leave and felt so uncomfortable. I guess now the nail on my middle right hand is nice and big to flip this business THE BIRD!! Avoid this place at all costs. The service is appalling. I witnessed this same guy say to another customer “umm where are you going?” in the same terrible tone he spoke to me after she was instructed to the spa chairs by a co-worker. It’s pretty disgusting behaviour. There’s about 10 nail salons in chermside so there’s plenty of other rad places to check out.

Jake is my go to man at Nail Society. He is truly talented as well as kind and funny. I look forward to seeing what he will do with my nails each time.
