Lovely phone service at time of booking created great expectations not to mention paying $249!!! Breakfast excluded.nTotally horribly outrageously overpriced.nWe were sold on the idea of ping pong and billiards for the kids.nYet at 7.30pm the ping pong table was inaccessible in a dark cluttered back room of the restaurant.nRoom and bathroom especially in poor state, smelly, paint flaking, walls cracked.nAcceptable if it were just 150 max....nRip off!!

It was a memorable experience with my family. There was a musical event & rides for the kids & adults. The accommodation is simple, quiet & with water views. Good One. Nolan

DO NOT STAY HERE!nnIt was the most disgusting smelling, mould covered, unhygienic & run down place I have EVER been in! In hindsight I wished I had left... but we had driven from Brisbane that day, so we were exhausted & I had already unloaded our heavy luggage from the car which wasn't able to be parked anywhere close to our room.nnAnyway, I took photos as proof of the state of the place & will be emailing the Manager of El Lago Waters (so called) Resort to request a full refund. Seriously, as you can see in the pics, the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year, let alone upon each vacancy.nThe whole place was in serious need of being upgraded: the air conditioning unit didn't work at all, the fridge air was warmer than the air in the room, the shower dripped continuously & was dirty, the dust/filth was piled up behind the bed & in the track of the sliding glass door, the sliding doors did not close properly-let alone lock, the couch was torn; the chair, desk & drawer units were severely stained, the paint was cracked & peeling in many places, the next rooms TV's & conversations could be heard clearly in our room, there was an adjoining door that had a desk a cross it and there was mould all over the back of the curtains, on the glass doors/windows, in the bathroom & on the doors of the cupboard!nSo upon returning the key the next morning I let the staff member know that I was very unhappy with the state of the room & the disgusting smell from all the mould. His response was: 'Oh yes, the 2nd & 3rd floor rooms are very good, but we have problems with some of the ground floor rooms. I will go & check the room once you leave'. Therefore, why were we put in 1 of these rooms then??? No apology or refund was offered at all, they simply didn't seem to care nor find it unacceptable to charge for such a room.

Stayed 2 nights May 2021.nnFirst of all the advertised price was not what we payed. Once the booking was made a surcharge was added.nThe room was reasonably clean except for the dead cockroach beside the bed. Lighting was poor in main room and bathroom. Some lights not working at all. You can have natural lighting during the day if you are happy to have the curtains opened while other guests look into your room from the courtyard. Sliding door onto courtyard needed to be forced open and closed.nWhile it was stated that WiFi was available we did not receive a guest password.nThe air conditioning worked intermittently requiring it to be turned back on to keep it running. Very dirty vents would suggest it has not been cleaned/serviced in a long time.nTV could only be turned on manually, remote buttons not working. Picture quality was bad as well.nThe shower was very poor. Could not get consistent water temperature during use. Shower head partially blocked.nThe bed was terrible. Very uncomfortable is an under statement.nDon't expect housekeeping. We got two new towels with a folded garbage bag sat on top left on the bathroom sink.nnAs the location is very close to town the noise at night is bad as well. Traffic from the main road which is right beside the building can be heard clearly. People yelling at all hours of the night. Location close to town definitely not a plus.nnOverall appearance of the motel is neglected.

The basics are lacking in El Lago despite paying $130 for 1 night:n- No electricity, had to ask reception to get it.n-Faulty taps with little water when turned onn-Thin walls, can hear other guests, (most uncomfortable part of the stay)n-No proper shampoo or conditioner.
