Waltzing Matilda Centre

I had a very good time at the centre. The old centre unfortunately burnt down in 2015, but they have done a wonderful job in bringing it back to life. There was a lot of old items that were very interesting to look at and if you are passing through Winton, I recommend that you visit this place.

One a day visit to Winton this was our number one priority and it didn't disappoint. This place is bursting with history and pride. You get a set of headphones and a audio recorder and as you move around the museum you press a button on your recorder and you hear a story about what you are looking at. Plan to spend at least two hours here.

At first I was a little dissapointed when I went through the door. It didn't look like much however it was set up real good. Then I went through to the next room and the next one. Now I was satisfied. Then I realized that there was more outside. Now I was really impressed. There were several sheds full of stuff to look at and there was also a theatre where they were playing a movie about the waltzing Matilda. There was so much to see that I didn't have enough time to see it all. Definitely worth a visit.

There was lots more information displayed I didn't allow time to read And then there was the surprise museum of relics out the back.

Everytime I come here or walk I find something new in our about the building. All very well done, and worth the look. Some historical displays there you don't get anywhere else.
