The Spotted Cow Hotel

Warm welcome and comfortable seating. unfortunately the staff did not know what light beers are available, and did not know at the bar too. I really disliked their lime aioli, but maybe that’s just me? our steaks were cooked to perfection 👍 I had to ask for a steak knife and then some water for the table. Maybe the staff should try your menu to know what is offered, so they would know more about the food. we had to google the dessert and for the price I would expect a higher standard of service. Also maybe don’t let the waitress with her broken arm in a sling deliver drinks. the staff were all very nice but lacked a bit off knowledge and training. the place itself looked very clean, except the bad smell in the men’s toilet. overall not to bad just minor things to fix.

Great meal, friendly staff and a nice refurb by the new owners. The T-bone was terrific!

We made a booking to eat here and when we arrived the booking was lost. No attempt was made by staff to explain the lost booking and we met with blank stares and made to feel like it was our fault.

So much history in this place! Great spot

We travelled over 2 hours to get to the spotted cow over the weekend to watch Busby Marou. The pub has a good atmosphere and the food was good and well priced. BUT although there was what looked like plenty of bar staff(5 or6) to deal with extra people, it was literally impossible to get a drink. I wasn’t the only one getting annoyed. Not that there was actually a long line to get a drink, what seemed to be a simple task the pour a beer took a bloody long time. I won’t be returning to the spotted cow.
