Adventure Bay Charters

Cage diving with great white sharks has been a bucket list activity of mine for a long time. After extensive research and looking at various providers I decided to book with Adventure Bay Charters. The team were exceptionally helpful with all questions in advance. I also decided to add swimming with Sea Lions as part of the package. On arriving in the morning, we were treated to a warm welcome by the team, and breakfast before boarding the boat. There were more than five members of staff on the boat on the day with marine biology experience, with all of them happy to share information about the sharks and other marina wildlife that we were likely to see. I also choose to do the deep cage dive which goes down to 18m. On the day, I was fortunate enough to see 2 Great White Sharks, which are much more majestic in real life tan any photo or video can prepare you for! The following day I did the half day Sea Lions tour which was such a good pairing with the Sharks. The sea lions a very playful and very interactive. To top it off, Dylan from the Adventure Bay team team took myself and another guest to coffin bay national in the afternoon. It was well over and above, we didn’t have access to a car so this was such an added perk of booking with a local friendly company! Would recommend without hesitation! Watching Great whites while listening to rock music is a winning combo!

Fantastic trip. Had a really nice small group of 6. (The usual minimum is 9 people however three people switched to a different day and they didn't want to cancel the trip last minute) The team running the day, were so friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed. The sealions were fantastic! So many of them! So cute and playful. They came up really close to us all. Felt safe throughout the day and there were breakfast snacks and cheese toasties over the day. Would highly recommend adventure bay charters, very good value for money.

We had an incredible time seeing the Sea Lions today! The tour was well worth the money (and the seriously choppy water) as we got to get so close to the beautiful sea lions who just wanted to play! The staff on board were amazing: Dan, Amy, Hayley & Matt were all so helpful, friendly and informative, they really made our day even more spectacular as they put a really personal touch on things. Would definitely recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful time here swimming with the sea lions. It is easy to do, everyone can come to have this experience. No risk to see a shark but we saw 2 dolphins. I would have loved to stay longer in the water (you will stay about 50 minutes) but it is because it was magic. You will also have some lunch on board (muffins, fruits and toasts after the swim). I recommand this experience!

Unfortunately my family did not cope with the rough conditions and we all spent the day with horrible motion sickness and continuous vomiting! The crew could not be more kind doing everything they could possibly do to keep us comfortable they even organized a surprise birthday cake for my daughter on the boat. To spite our sickness we did still enjoy our trip and the beautiful views of the SA coastline and the others on board were lucky enough to see multiple sharks, dolphins, sea lions and shark feeding on a whale carcass! I would imagine on calmer days it would have been a tour of a life time, i would recommend this crew and tour 100 times over :)
