Aquarium World Cairns

Incredible range of aquarium plants, a variety of fish. The owner is extremely helpful, lovely and enjoys discussing the best options for your tank. As well as care needed for your plants! Unlike many other pet shops, he knows how to care for aquariums and all flora and fauna within your tank. Just be prepared to spend some time having a long nice chat :D

I have really enjoyed each trip to Paul's shop. His stock is expensive, but it is really good quality. Also, unlike Petbarn and other big pet stores which keep their fish in bare tanks, his fish tanks have tons of plants and inverts in with the fish. I also feel that when I buy something from Paul, it is worth it because of all the advice and tips he shares from his vast knowledge gained through many years as an aquarist. I would recommend to any aquarist looking for a broad range of high quality fish, plants and inverts.

The owner is extremely rude and a total lier. He acts like he knows what he is talking about but will just tell you what you want to here to get a sale. His price are the most expensive in Cairns and the fish are no better quality. Petstock and other mainstream stores are actually much cheaper and the same quality. He will tell you that you will not find what he has in any other store in Cairns when over half will have it. Lier. Rude. Either lacking knowledge or just tells you anything to get the sale. No real fish person shops there.

This place is so beautiful and educational. The staff are so friendly and are more than happy to answer questions and give demonstrations/talks about the animals. I learned so much reading the wall information and seeing the animals in very carefully put together habitat enclosures. Best aquarium we have been to yet!
