These gardens are larger than expected and are superbly maintained. The free walking tour was a delight with Gail keeping the pace perfectly and finding places for the less mobile to rest while she explained the different plants and their development. These gardens have a long and valuable history and your guide brings this to life. It takes about 90 well spent minutes.

The Gardens get 5 stars and are made in heaven! So peaceful and beautiful and they feel so old and established. However, arrive tanked up with food and coffee. Don't eat at any of the coffee/cafe outlets. They are not worthy of their delightful position and are not worthy of our State. Early lunch today for $30 for just two small coffees and two impossibly greasy croissants. SUCH BAD value. Restaurant prices for the worst fast food I have ever had in Australia. Before the lunch time rush on a beautiful day one does not expect filth both on the tables and under the tables. Eat somewhere else.

Geogous wisteria lane every spring.

I have been coming here since I was very young. I remember when the glass house was a derelict wreck and the statue of Artemis had a spear and the horse had a tail (at the time of writing said statue was being assessed for repair. It was beautiful even with these faults and I have wonderful memories of playing in leaves in Autumn as a young boy and then bringing my children and now my grandchildren here to do the same. It is one of my favourite places in Adelaide to spend time with family and always will be.

Beautiful. Expansive grounds and wide variety of flora. Could use more shaded rest areas, but overall a stunning natural beauty. Added benefit of housing the Wine Center! Very convenient city center location.
