Rick's Pet Stores

Always greeted at the door and friendly staff. Clean. They are not overwhelmed with live stock, always a moderate amount. Shows that they know their limit and they are there for quality, not quantity.

I usually come to pick up pet supply s for birds and such from the Petawawa store but as I had plans on getting hamsters I came to the Pembroke store to get a Teddy bear hamster. My hamster Suki just died less than 1 month( with me) old, anyways the cause of death was wet tail a disease found in hamsters but Suki happened to have sed disease when I purchased her. I am kind of upset about that as they are in cages with each other and there for the disease (known to spread) may and will be passed hamster to hamster. It would be nice if maybe the company could look into it and not sell hamsters that have sed disease. If that changes or is helped then ya its a pretty good place little pricey but overall pretty great still really upset about the diseased hamster thought.

Always amazing time shopping at Rick's! Awesome staff that is willing to help the best they can! If they don't have a product they always seek out to find it for you! Such amazing staff and service! Cannot speak highly enough!

Unfortunately because of Covid they are having hard time getting stock in of rat food. Not so good when your rats are picky eaters and cannot find the food they like. Food reward program is pointless if there is never any food in stock. Currently not much for selection at Pembroke location. I'm sure it's Covid related. Wasn't overly impressed with all my son's fish dieing within a week. We're experienced fish/pet owners and have never had any problems with fish we've purchased elsewhere. Probably won't be back due to the heart break my son had from the loss of over $150 worth of fish. :(

We're first time fish adopters and the ladies at Rick's were very patient, helpful and knowledgeable. They answered all our questions and helped us choose everything from the tank to the fishies. We love our Glo tetras and look forward to adding a few more to our tank!
