DO NOT GO HERE!!! They will rip you off if they can. They do not know how to properly test gold and silver properly and will give you a low offer. I was unhappy with the way I was treated so went down to Old and Gold. They have proper equipment to test without filing or scratching your jewelry and gave me a much better price.

I visited this place on Tuesday July 28 and all I can say is steer clear of this store. I visited the store with 3 pieces of gold jewelry, 2 gold bracelets and a gold watch band. This was the first time I have ever visited a place that buys gold so I wasn’t really sure on the process. There was 2 ladies working at the time, I believe one of them was the owners mother and the other was someone that must have been relatively new as she was being trained by the mother on how to test the gold. They both started to perform tests on all my gold which was fine. They ask to perform a file test of one of the pieces which I agreed too as they did not believe it to be gold. A file test involves taking a file to your gold and filing gold off the jewelry. Again I did agree to this, but it was due to not being familiar with the process. After all the tests were completed they informed me my gold was testing at a weaker karat than what the jewelry was actually stamped with. I had a 18k gold bracelet that they said tested at a weak 14k, and my other 2 pieces also tested weaker. They weighed up all my gold and said that they would give me $550 for it all. At this time I wanted to call my wife to see if she agreed with what they would pay out. Luckily I was not able to get ahold of her and I left with my gold. Upon leaving and getting into my vehicle, I noticed that one of my gold pieces was missing so I headed back to the store. Upon entering the mother told me that she had her son come down, which I guess is the owner, and wanted to look at my watch band piece again make sure it was real. The guy didn’t even come out of his vehicle and the mother came back and said yes they would give me $550 for all my gold. I took my gold and left as I still hadn’t contacted my wife. So the next day I decided to take my gold for a second opinion at a difference place, Old n Gold on fort street. The gentleman there did a few tests in a machine which I’m guessing was some sort of metal X-ray machine, looked over my gold, confirmed that all the gold was in fact real and also was the correct stamped karat. Believe or not I walked out with $1586! I will definitely never set foot in this location again, this company will tell you your gold is lesser karat than it actually is, give you poor money for your gold, and also don’t have the correct equipment to test for accuracy. Be aware of this company. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. I have all receipts to back this up.
