Saanich Police Department

I got a speed ticket but the officer was very polite and nice. I went to the station to ask a question Saturday night and they were very helpful and and cool. No one likes getting a ticket but It’s their job. Nothing personal. I had good experience with them.

Their officers don't know basic rights protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Uneducated and unprofessional. Would give 0 or negative stars if I could.

The Saanich police dept. values strong morals such as leadership, professionalism and integrity. They work hard day and night with the ~180 constable in the service, providing one of the safest places to live. It is far to long believed police constables aren't very good at their jobs. This conflict is primarily fabricated by those in society unable to conceive an alternate reality without the Saanich police service. Police are one of the most important jobs and deserve plenty of respect to follow that.

As an affordable housing provider, we often have reason to interact with the Saanich Police. Their officers have consistently gone above and beyond to assist our staff and residents and to deal with often complex situations with tact and compassion. Policing is a very difficult job and the officers in Saanich do it with great professionalism and efficacy.

5 stars for officer 327, 0 stars for officer 293 in the YouTube video. I really hope SPD takes this opportunity to educate her on how to better interact with the public, specifically on how to de-escalate and be honest. You were lucky to have officer 327 coming in behind her to fix the situation. Of course she still couldn't be honest and couldn't just admit she was wrong.
