Great place! Great value. We always have a wonderful time. We've been going for about 4 years here. The host is wonderful and you are a minute, if that, away from the beach. Breakfast is fresh warm pastries, French toast, etc. Only thing is we noticed on our last trip the pull out mattress could really use some updating. Not sturdy enough to sleep on.

We had an amazing time in Baku's cabin. It was a very comfortable stay. The place is rustic and authentic, we specially loved the smell of wood and the African motifs. Baku was a very great host, ensuring our stay was perfect and giving us some tips about the area.

Fantastic! Rustic, romantic cabin. Baku - your host - is a most pleasant, accommodating individual and serves up the most amazing three-course breakfast one could imagine. Thanks, Baku. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Tofino, BC.

Pros: We appreciated the host’s good baking & cooking for breakfast and willingness to make an omelette one morning as we weren’t keen on having croissants and pancakes, as well as his offer to put a softer mattress on the bed after a firm but sagging mattress left one of us trying to sleep on the loveseat. It was also great to be so near the ocean on Lynn Rd. Cons: Unfortunately the softer mattress was placed atop the sagging one, leaving us still on a centrally sagging platform to sleep. It was a cozy cabin, but the property itself was in disrepair and neglected, with scrap wood, plastic garbage, and dead foliage strewn about, bins of rainwater with vegetation growing out of them and a crooked walkway to the cabin. The entrance had an overgrown and partially fallen fence, with an abandoned look. Inside, the bathroom was not well cleaned, with visible black mould on the toilet, and only the inside bowls of toilet and sink cleaned. The tub was clean but the shower walls were varnished wood panels that one can’t clean properly. Cobwebs that were easily within reach, very dirty windows, walls with toothpaste flecks near the sink and a hole by the toilet where the wood was rotting away all left much to be desired. The back deck had muskoka style chairs covered in small branches and leaves, the deck long unswept. In fairness, it is storm season and it would be expected to have a few leaves lying around, but as this was our only view from the living space, it felt quite unwelcoming. We were grateful to have found a much cleaner and appealling place to stay after two nights there (for a much better price), and received a refund for the extra we had paid of our 50% downpayment, having planned to stay 5 nights. But it was a sore lesson in what questions to ask and things to look for before booking a place to stay. Our host was kind and apologetic; we just hope others don’t have the same experience if tidyness and cleanliness and a comfortable bed are important to them.
