**NO CONSTANT ROOM FAN**
It's tough to only give a 1 star review here, because the hotel was beautiful and the staff were very nice and efficient. The room size and cleanliness was also excellent!
Unfortunately, it was impossible for me to sleep. I require a fan to sleep because I like the white noise and breeze. At this hotel there is a ventilation and air conditioning unit in the room, but it's controls have been stripped and instead tied to a room thermometer that's on the wall. Some of the features don't even work, one of which is being able to just have the fan blow, regardless of temperature.
So during the night the fan would come on and off, making it impossible to sleep. Well, what's the main reason you go to a hotel for? Sleep. If I can't sleep at that hotel, then I can't go back, no matter how nice it is.
If you're reading this and you need a fan to sleep like so many of us out there, do not stay at this hotel. You won't be able to sleep.
I will reiterate that every other aspect of this hotel is excellent and 100% worth your money and time being there. If you do not require a fan to sleep, this is an excellent hotel.
Unfortunately, I cannot go back and will stay at competing hotel chains in the future.
This was a very convenient and affordable choice for a two-night stay while visiting family in Dartmouth. We were traveling with our Labrador retriever and appreciated the dog-friendliness. Front desk staff were efficient and helpful responding to questions and accommodating several requests.
The room was clean, comfortable. I would have liked the bathroom to have a fan. It had the vent but no switch to use it and it made it very stuffy when getting out of the shower. Our key cards wouldn't work at the pool the first night and then they stopped working for our room the second night and even when they were replaced they didn't work so it was a bit annoying having to run to the desk multiple times. The pool was too warm. It felt like being in the bath... would have enjoyed it if it were a little cooler to cool off. I was a little concerned about the pool appointments, we were able to stay past our appointment time and there wasn't any staff coming in to ensure we leave and sanitize before the next group came in. Very concerning because it is being advertised as such for peace of mind due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm only writing this review in hopes for some changes because it would have been a great stay other than these issues. I had a very good sleep in the rooms!
Hotel is very modern and exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly - especially the front desk staff welcoming 4 legged friends with treats. The hotel provides a great breakfast to go during these covid times. The pool area gets 5 stars from the kids!
I'll just say this has to be one of the best places in Halifax to stay! The staff has your back no matter what scenarios you find yourself in. The hotel is always kept superbly clean and sanitized, the pool is a lot of fun for both adults and children, and it's an added bonus that they have a business center (scanner/printer, touch screen computers) in their lobby! Definitely stay here.
