Hycroft Suites

My husband and I rented the Monaco suite over Airbnb. Within minutes of checking in, we both had asthma attacks from the obvious mildew problem in this building. It stank very badly of a mould problem and this was not the end of the issues here. The place was covered in dust, curtains that fall off, no screens on the windows, very noisy from the road at the back of the building, char coming off of the filthy hot plate, clumps of hair on the floor, dead bouquet of flowers and stained, filthy furniture. We obviously contacted the owner who laughed at us and tried to upsell our stay in the suites upstairs. He offered to have it cleaned the next day but that was not going to solve the mould problem so we had to cancel our stay. He offered to refund any nights booked by another party but I am still trying to get this refund back and it’s been a month. Book yourself into a legit hotel and don’t give these guys your money! They are extremely rude, condescending and need to fix the mould problem in this building.

Location is good and central. Facilities are nice. Their summer rates get very expensive!! We were lucky to book just before they implemented their mandatory 7day stay for summer bookings.

No heat no blankets on the pullout couch, fan in the washroom didn't work, very loud neighbor. But a good spot for if you are just there to sleep and your out all day

The place is extremely homey and well furnished. Beds were comfortable, and Granville island was walking distance away. No microwave though.

I had a poor experience with the host. He was very condescending to me and my family, and especially my mother. I hope he doesn't treat his wife that way or to any woman for that matter. I would suggest reiterating that the paperwork needs to be signed prior to the first, whether that be clearer signage on the kitchen table or actually confirming with the guest. The bathroom ceiling is also leaking!!!
