I’ll never buy their raw again. I must say I was hesitant because the chunks are big and I have small dogs but not a lot of good raw options in Nanaimo. Well one of my dogs almost choked to death as a piece of bone got lodged in his throat and an urgent visit to the vet to get it out. They don’t grind it fine enough. It’s ok for big dogs but not small ones so beware of this before you buy. There is a new store in Namaimo called The Wild Side” at Country Club Mall with a ton of affordable raw options Stay away from Buddies if you have small dogs.

I have an older dog who has suspected food allergies causing extreme skin reactions. In addition he is a picky eater. I have been trying various dry dog foods with novel protiens, no grains, etc. He doesn't like them and these are EXPENSIVE foods. I called Buddies and they were extremely helpful. Listened to the issues and what I could confirm he was not allergic to and had a lot of suggestions. When I went in the next day to purchase the first round of food (transitional to get him onto the concept of eating raw) they worked with me to flesh out the plan. The best news, so far my dog seems to like it! 100% would recommend. They even have a picky pet plan where if you buy something and your pet doesn't like it you can bring it back.

Awesome! I started coming here with zero knowledge on raw food and treats. The woman working was very helpful in guiding me through what would be appropriate to give to my dogs (size of bones, types, etc) She answered all my questions. I have now been stopping in once a week to get the raw meat bones and various other frozen treats for my dogs. It is soooo much better than pet store "treats" that are highly processed and expensive! The cost at Buddies is reasonable and the dogs are loving their new treats.
