If you like adventure, this place is for you! My group and I were able to make the reservation the day before, the owner was super flexible and nice. A few of us went in a bathing suit, which can be tough to do the hike in, since your skin can get scratched from the rocks. Shorts and a shirt that you don't mind getting wet are good and of course, a spare set of clothing for after. The hike in the cave is about an hour or two and the tour guides show you cool structures and species from a distance. He offers the option to have a photographer to take multiple pictures throughout the hike, which is worth it since you can get really good candid pictures while trying to crawl under rocks! Definitely recommend this tour!

Alberto led us through quite the adventure at Cavernas de Venado! Imagine four-legging it through neck-high water in a three foot tall offshoot until you see the most beautiful collection of stalactites and columns, and you’ll have an idea of how exciting this tour can be. Check it out!

Memorable experience walking through water the whole time exploring the caves! It's not very technical - some small kids were in our group and did just fine. Saw spiders (including a tarantula), fish, and many many bats!

Adventure tour sure to keep you off your toes, literally! Many places to crawl, slide, and swim through. We were lucky enough to have the cave to ourselves! In these times of Covid, the cave is open and you may be lucky to have the cave to yourself as well. The ranch owners are friends to our tico friends so we really received an amazing tour of this cave. My 75 year old father even endured some of it's arduous passageways, but went within his limits. I am 5'8 about 155lbs and was able to venture through the small spaces just fine. Those much larger than me may have to do what they can. This cave is about 2 1/2 miles long and we were able to do a little over a mile of it. Most of it is unsafe to the public and there are signs posted in those areas. This is a playground for us Biologists and of course the Geologists. The oldest part of the cave is very unique, and recommended if you aren't claustrophobic and can endure tight spaces. Worth a visit!

Beautiful cave with a little bit of a squeeze at a point which makes it well worth it. Tour was only an hour in the end but still a great experience
