I never knew how interesting and important bees are for our world! This reserve is way out in the jungle, and the people are very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a fascinating tour of the bees, the environment, and had an excellent meal. At first I was nervous to get too close to the bees, but we wore full suits and the bees were very calm and nothing to be afraid of!

My friend and I wanted to look for something a little different to do in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica seeing how we already did zip-lining in Monteverde. We also wanted to see how we can help support local, family businesses. We randomly found this bee farm in a magazine and saw that the owner, Miguel, did tours! It was an amazing, educational experience. He and his daughter taught us so much about bees and their habits and then we got to see the hives up close and personal (he provided us with all the necessary protective equipment of course). Also, because it’s not that common of an activity to do in Costa Rica, my friend and I were the only ones there and got our very own private tour. After we saw the bees, we got to try some honey from the hives we just saw, which tasted delicious! 100% would recommend this tour if you’re in the town. Miguel is so nice and a very knowledgeable tour guide.

Beautiful natural reserve! If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path with fewer tourists I'd highly recommend it. The information about the bees was truly interesting and the family works hard to inform the public and protect the land!
