Great place to view the transition forest of the Costa Rican Pacific coast. Only downsides are that a good section of trail is right along the highway and, like all Costa Rica National Parks, it closes at 4. Still over an hour of good light and the animals just start getting active again when you have to leave.

An excellent opportunity to connect with Nature in an easy walk. You can walk the main trails (both paved and unpaved ones) in about a couple hours. Wear breathable clothes, insect reppelent and a hat. Lots of wildlife, highly recommend to arrive as early as possible to max the chances of watching birds and mammals. Keep an eye on the trail in the unpaved sections!

Easy park to navigate for anyone with disabilities or walking issues. The path is level, well maintained and wheelchair accessable. We saw spider monkeys, iguanas and a variety of birds. There is a bathroom building about 1/2 way along the path. The entire walk is shaded and bug spray is recommended.

A beautiful park just minutes away from Jaco. It's known for it's macaws but also has several different kinds of animals living inside the park. The park also has a trail which can be accessed by anyone using a wheelchair. It's got restrooms at the entrance as well as inside the trails which is uncommon. It also has plenty of parking space. Since it is quite close to the ocean it is hot and humid so dress accordingly.

A great visit to Carara. We saw 3 types of monkeys. Got lucky with the spider monkey. The park is well maintained and the trails are in great condition. You can spend about 1-2 hours and get to see a lot of diversity. Please wear LOTS of mosquito repellent, they will eat you alive.
