You might drive right by the Tarcoles bridge except there is usually a party of tents and umbrellas sitting along side the road with vendors selling trinkets. This caught my attention and so I stopped and walked the bridge which has protected sidewalks on both directions. Looking over the edge, was a murky brown river about 20 meters below. I was about to move on when a giant crocodile, maybe 3 meters long, swam from the depths and crawled onto a sand bar right below me. Four more crocks surfaced nearby. I stayed for 10 minutes and the crocks did not leave. Days later, I crossed the bridge again and stopped to see if I would get lucky twice. This time a big crock was slowly swimming just below the surface. Spooky and fascinating! I stopped at the road side vendors and had lunch at the cafe by the bridge. It isn't a place I would spend all day but it is well worth the stop. This river has a dense population of crocodiles so the odds are favorable that you will see some.

Great spot to throw away dead bodies

The Crocodile Bridge didn't not have much to offer for me. Now the restaurant w the same name was a total hit. Freshest seafood that I had in a long time. Very attentive service.

I've heard such good things about this bridge but I was left wanting more. I could only see one crocodile way off in the distance sitting on the bank. It was more at dusk time and I'm wondering if they're out at different times of the day or maybe it's the time of year.

Pretty cool experience. They changed the bridge to make it a little more safe. The crocodiles are so prehistoric, nice that's it's free too!
