Here, after 1836, the history of Zollverein began, the first shaft was sunk here. Later there was the big Waschkaue for many miners here, because here was extended. Today, on the one hand, the Tsnztheater Pact and on the other the art shaft of Thomas Rother, the Keramische Werkstatt Margaretehöhe and the new Hotel "Friends".

A great mining facility integrated into the whole large Zollverein project. The winding tower with many outbuildings is in perfect condition. The PACT, Performing Arts Choreographic Center NRW Tanzlandschaft Ruhr is located in the former wash house.
