We hired a tandem from Fahrradklinik and it was outstanding. We whistled along all the way to Vienna five days later. So grateful to Matthias and Ursula - these are good people to deal with who only have the best equipment.

Very good and professional service. The bikes were ok, we rented bikes for a week and there were no technical issues. Bikes were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this service.

I'm sorry I didn't write my review earlier for this great place. I used them 2 years ago...they hooked me up with a great bike that I used for about a week's ride from Passau to Budapest. The communication was prompt and clear (not surprisingly with a mastery in English.) The price was quite fair and I'd be happy to rent from them again.

Rented ebikes from Fahrradklinik Sept 15-22 for our ride down the Danube to Vienna. Picked them up in Passau ar their shop which is only 50 meters from the bridge where you cross to the north side of the Danube to start your ride. Both Matthias and Ursula were great to deal with and both fluent in English. Bikes were as advertised- right size (and I am tall), good condition, ready at the requested time. We were supplied with Flyer brand with "unisex" frames, what I call step-through or what used to be called ladies bikes. We supplied our own rear panniers (I believe that they supply panniers on request for a charge); they supplied a front handlebar pannier as part of the rental and that is where we kept the battery charger and the chain bike lock which they also provided. The bikes performed well. Large capacity batteries - 148 km range in econo - with 4 levels of pedal assist as well as walk assist which was nice when disembarking from bike ferries. Note to North Americans and Aussies - ebikes in Europe are only pedal assist; there is no throttle. We had no mechanical issues with either bike, but we encountered people who had rented elsewhere who could not say the same thing. This rental company has a drop off spot for your bike that is about 15 km west of Vienna's downtown core. So, you won't need to cycle all the way into Vienna. The drop spot is only 100 meters from a commuter rail and bus stop that will allow you to get anywhere in Vienna 20 Minutes after you drop your bikes off. Email correspondence with the shop was easy, and prompt. I highly recommend this rental company. A comment on ebike vs standard bike rental -- the Danube is very doable with a standard bike, and if you are doing a tour where your luggage is transported for you then you do not need an ebike. Even with fully laden panniers we would have been fine on a standard bike along the Danube. But, if you want to do some side trips (Matthausen for example, or up into the wineries in the Wachau, or to various viewpoint, ...., and you will), or if you want to ride at a more leisurely effort and still make your daily kilometres then an ebike is nice. We are 68 and 65, very typical of the age of the cyclists on the Danube in September. I would say that 80% were on ebikes. Most of the 20% wished that they had ponied up the extra cash for the ebike.
