I have recently moved to Mainz from the US and my when bike arrived from the states my husband and I had to reassemble it and I wasn't sure it it was put together properly (especially the breaks!).. I stopped by Radhaus to see if I could schedule a maintenance appointment.Like all bike shops, they are very busy with repairs since more people have been riding bikes during COVID and couldn't give me an appointment anytime soon. When I explained my situation, the nice lady behind the counter quickly grabbed some tools and came outside to give my bike a quick look and make some adjustments so I could ride safely. I really appreciated her helping me out! I will definitely return to Radhaus for my biking needs and would recommend them to others.

Excellent service. Very knowledgeable. Friendly and honest. This is my first stop whenever I have questions or need help with my bike.

Thanks so much for your help today! You did a better job at helping me finding the best way into town by bike than the Tourist Information Center.

I wouldn't recommend anybody to go there. It feels like a scam. Here are the facts: 1 - On November 17th 2017 (Friday) I went there because my 7-speed gearbox stopped working completely. I paid EUR 45 to have it repaired. They returned the bike close to the store's closing time and I rode back home. While riding, I realized that the 3rd and 4th gears were not working. 2 - On the next day, Saturday, I went there to talk about the problem and have it repaired properly, as the service wasn't completely done. Because it was a Saturday, it was full and they asked me to come back on the next week, during a weekday, when it would be easier to take a look. 3 - On the next week (between November 20-24th, I don't recall the day), I went there to have it checked. The person that helped me called other workers to take a look and they reached the conclusion that the gearbox was fine (without opening it again). They said that it was the shifter that was causing the problem. I found it weird, as it was working fine before, but decided to trust them. As they didn't have any new shifter in the store at the moment, they sent me home, saying that I could just buy it online. The bike wasn't used much since then. 4 - Now, with summer approaching, I decided to finally buy a new shifter. Before buying, I tested another bike's shifter on mine and the problem was still there, indicating that back then they were wrong: the shifter was fine and it was the gearbox that didn't get repaired completely. 5 - I went there today (April 27th 2018) to have them look at it again, as they didn't do it back them because they assumed it was the shifter. They refused to do anything about it. I talked to 3 employees about what had happened (2 of them remembered about that repair) and none of them wanted to do anything. Some of the excuses were: A - "At this time of the year (spring/summer) we don't do this kind of job. The shop is full and it takes too long." --- I don’t even know what to say abou that.. B - "The gearbox is a hopeless case because it is too old, there is no pointing in trying to repair it." --- Well, if it is a hopeless case, why did they try to repair it and got the money in the first place? C - "You should have come here earlier, not after months" --- I went there on the day after the repair, then again one week after that and they sent me home blaming another part that wasn't broken. D - "If it breaks 5 times, we can't open the gearbox 5 times to have it repaired without charging you" - Well, it didn't break 5 times, it broke once and they never repaired it completely (even so they got the money). The 3rd and 4th gears were not working since they opened it and the problem is still the same. -- Judging by their excuses today, now I realized that when they blamed the shifter for the problem, they were just too lazy to open it again to take a look. I stayed there discussing with them more about 30 minutes and on that time they could have taken a look (this is how much time it took them to "repair" the first time I went there). I'm never coming back there and I write this review in the hope that other customers will make sure they do their job before ever leaving the shop or paying for it. Or just look for a better place to have their bikes fixed.

Wanted to buy a air pump for my son's bike. They gave me an old one for free.
