Palais Bretzenheim

Former palace of the children Elector Carl Theodors from his association with Josepha Seiffert- later Countess Heydeck. The imperial princes of Bretzenheim lived in the immediate vicinity of the baroque palace. The palace of Verschaffelt was destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt for the 1899 in the building accommodated former Rheinische mortgage bank. Worth seeing is the almost completely preserved Baroque main staircase. The hall was restored only in the most recent repair for the district court in its basic structure but without the decoration. Worth seeing is the so-called Mannheimer room, which adjoins the Great Hall to the west!

Part of the district court is housed in the Palais Bretzenheim. At events, the imposing central Hauptaufang is open. The "Grand Hall" in late Louis XVI style (?) Is very impressive. There are some concerts here (baroque night).
