I read an article in the weekly newspaper Kaiserslautern about "Waldbad or Waldbaden". The forest pool was apparently only completed a few months ago and we were there last Saturday. Really nicely done and in the middle of the forest. Located between Erzhütten or Wiesenthalerhof and Erfenbach. The forest pool is a very short path or small area in the forest, directly on a footpath through the forest in the direction of the Drei-Berge-Blick, with loungers and seating. You can look into the treetops on the comfortable loungers and listen to the sounds of the forest. We counted three loungers (the loungers are quite large and sufficient for 2 to 3 people). At the entrance to the path or the forest pool there is also a bench with a table and a bicycle stand (made from a tree trunk). The forest pool can only be reached on foot. The nearest parking facilities are around a 15-minute walk away. You drive on the main road through Erzhütten in the direction of Erfenbach. Shortly after the Erzhütten exit, there is a path on the right hand side (along the power lines). There is already a signpost at the entrance. A few meters up the driveway there are a few parking spaces (for about 10 cars). The way towards Waldbad is signposted. Once you have reached the forest pool, you can walk a few meters further to the Drei-Berge-Blick. The way to the Drei-Berge-Blick is also signposted (it takes about 20 minutes to walk from the forest pool). We like the forest pool. Although the forest pool is contemplative, the number of loungers and seating is sufficient. Now and then there are actually phases in which you can't hear anything except the forest (we haven't heard anything from the nearby motorway). The aircraft noise is of course annoying, but in the meantime it's really quiet. Whether the statements of the Japanese doctors - according to the weekly newspaper Kaiserslautern - are correct and whether forest bathing has a positive effect on blood pressure, heartbeat, etc.? It would definitely be nice. A note at the end: although the forest pool has only been around for a few weeks, there are already the first signs of litter and dog poop. It would be really desirable if every visitor took their rubbish with them and also disposed of the dog waste elsewhere. It should also be a matter of course not to smoke cigarettes or one in general in the forest. This notice goes in particular to the lady who, accompanied by two gentlemen and two dogs, smoked a cigarette with relish at the entrance of the forest pool or threw the cigarette butt on the floor and whose two dogs were running around freely. The Kaiserslautern Forestry Office writes on its website about the forest "Forest is good!" It would be really nice if it stayed that way and this place in particular continued to help capture the beauty of the forest. I don't think it's too much to ask that every visitor to the forest pool or, in general, the visitor to the forest contribute.
