We walked up from Cochem-cond and then on to Valwig / Valwiger mountain. Well worth the walk. A Nordic walking path also runs along.

The path is as good as no longer there. Above the house it gets better again, underneath it is not recommended without suitable footwear! Be sure to walk with GPS or Google Maps to find the way. A great destination on a circular route for adventurous hikers. 🏃‍♂️

The St Matthias-Heiligenhäuschen is located in the middle of the Conder forest about 300 meters above the roadside chapel. There was a direct way there, but this is mostly no longer available. The best way to access the chapel is to take the path towards Brazselay and after about 50 meters from the path, turn right into the forest. After another 50 meters you can see the sanctuary already left down in the forest. From there you can walk the more or less clearly visible path to the path chapel and cross the Stations of the Cross to Untercond. Despite all the effort a beautiful route with some beautiful viewpoints.
