Lindlau am Ring

Terrible service, unfriendly and impolite staff. If they did not sell you their own bike forget about them even trying to fix yours no matter how much you insist. And yes, wiling to pay. Got there on Friday 15min before closing time with my bike and its wiggling crank. They tell me to come back other day without even checking it because it was too late. But not on Saturday because they have much to do on Saturday. I come back on a week day on a work break. The guy from Friday tells me to bring my bike to the workshop area, the guy there does not even want to check if they can put one of their cranks (mine I think I broke it and probably needed a new one). First saying that length may not fit, when I insist we see that length and diameter fit. Then he says that color will not match, I say I do not mind that I just need a crank that does not wiggle. Then, mid-conversation comes a third staff member (boss?) starts talking loud to the one in the workshop interrupting me when I was talking. And still loudly and impolitely tells me to take my bike away from the workshop area. Looks at my bike, not one of theirs (it is a chinese Fiido D1), and tells me to go away and repair it where I bought it. I say I bought it online and that I only need a crank that fits. He says that if he puts one and its not working well I will come back complaining to him that I should then buy the original piece online and install it myself. I insist that I wont complain, I just want to try to repair it and that if the diameter of their crank is the same as the one of the bike there should not be any problem. He does not even want to check. He finally tells me that no way to do it, I should go and buy it online. 5 minutes they could have invested on Friday and saved me from having to take a break from work just to tell me that since they did not sell the bike they do not want to try to repair it. As I said, worst service I have seen in a long time with not a hint of will to try to help the customer.

We rode into Cologne after two weeks biking the lower Rhine and my back tire was so worn it needed replacement. We went in Cologne for only two days and Lindlau am Ring squeezed a back tire replacement into a busy schedule. I left the bike on a Friday night and had it back on Saturday at 4:00. They did a great job and were courteous and hospitable even though we only spoke English. Highly recommended.

Bad and unfriendly service.

I've been buying bicycles here all my life and I'm always very satisfied, be it advice, sales or repairs. I can only explain the bad reviews that people are always looking to complain.
