I was made feel welcome especially when I visited nationwide in Chelmsford lovely staff I was left to get on with what I needed to do was to do some cash deposits using the self service machine staff polite and very understanding and helpful

Horrible service tried to open a student bank account. The first visit They stated I needed certain paper work and they assured me I only needed this paperwork to open my account. As I got the paperwork they tell me this time that I don’t meet the requirements. So thanks for wasting my time. I will gladly take my business else where

Really poor service. Would have been 0 stars if allowed. Call centre advised me I'd need to pop into branch to open a kids savings account and told me what documents to take with me. When i went to the branch, fully prepared, i was told they only see people by appointment. Apparently most branches do not require appointments but Chelmsford manager insists on it due to how busy they are. A bit surprising as i could see 6 staff and there were only 2 customers. When i asked to see the manager i was told he had just popped out but i could come back in 5 minutes to see him. So i did, still the same 2 customers but now with the manager there was 7 staff. The manager was happy to sit and spend time the time with me that it would take to open an account but only to explain how busy they were (still no other customers and staff were sitting around chatting) Ended up advising me I should try WItham branch as they were less busy! Couldn't help but come away with the impression that the manager was only interested in maintaining his policy despite how bizarre it seemed in the circumstances. "Try Witham", ridiculous. So I'll move my accounts and try a different bank instead thank you.

Absoutley appalling service. I applied for a small loan. I never recieved a letter from them despite being told by head office that it had been sent out. I was told I need to sign an agreement but the branch said no need as it had been done on line. The guy at the front desk told me my loan account had been set up and all I would need to do was transfer it to my flex account. No loan account set up !!! No transfer. The letter he printed off confirming the loan gave a number to call that was available to 8pm. Guess what I phoned at 7.45 pm - office closed !!!! Useless. Go somewhere else. I will be going after them for compensation.

I did not have a very good experience with there mortgage advisor she didn't even know what an help to buy ISA was she had to ring round to find out what it was even though its a product Nationwide promote they were generally very bad through out our mortgage application no one seemed to know what they were doing they did keep us informed we had to chase up everthing
