Barclays Bank

Well I was thinking about getting one of my Engineers to nip in, and pay a cheque into your branch, but having second thoughts after reading these reviews. But on a positive note. Thank you Andrew Flint, for your review. Not laughed so much in ages !

I admit we are in strange times with covid .... but your response is laughable. Limiting numbers inside the bank , good idea , creating a queue outside the bank, good idea . Getting a security guard to ask personal questions in the street reducing your opening times and closing Saturday's is a absolute joke. Most supermarkets ( including the one I work at ) have taken to opening longer to make sure people can get what they need . Why have you decided to close Saturday's when every other bank and building society is open is beyond my reasoning. You only ever have 1 or 2 counters available to serve people, 1 of these counters business customers get priority so the rest of us just have to wait. With the reduced opening and shorter daytime hours you must have staff crying out for hours , get some counter staff on to help those of us who don't wanna use machines and the elderly who prefer the more personal touch. My personal expierence starts when I try and make a online purchase of insurance only to be declined online , after checking I have money in the account I try again only to be declined again, so no choice but to visit the bank . I finish work at 2 and rush to get to the bank ( because you now shut at 3 , hard life 9 am till 3 ) I arrive and your bank has a queue outside which I half expected, never mind I thought I'm here with plenty of time . Then the security guard approached me in the street and asked me what I wanted to do in the bank ,( looked like a extra from planet of the apes ) I replied that it had nothing to do with him I'd just like to talk to someone for 5 mins , unmoved by my obvious need not to speak to a man with less brains than the average 4 year old he insisted I told him. I told him what my issue was ( in the street , in Mansfield, with Mansfields crimerate ) he told me to wait there. The ape then asked the women the same question to which she replyed she was paying money into her husbands buisness account ( annoucing to the street she had a large amount of money on her ). The ape told her she couldn't do it , to which she said she had been doing it this way for 7 years. He then went to ask someone if it was possible, I remember thinking he was doing quite well to not be in pain with his knuckles dragging on the floor . After 10 mins a woman ( why she was not serving on a counter is beyond me ) came out and told the woman that although ape man was right they would make a exception in her case....but she would still have to queue ... in the street ... after she told everyone she was carrying money ... in Mansfield ... with Mansfields crime rate. I could go on forever about how bad your customer service is in branch but on arriving in branch I see you already know ... on your posters practically bottom of every poll and survey . Only one your top in is mobile banking , which I don't do . So yet another customer you are going to lose .

Great experience at the Mansfield branch of Barclays today. Had an appointment with Laura Marriott to sort out power-of-attorney in relation to my Mum. From the moment I walked in all the staff were extremely friendly. I was seen dead on time for my appointment. It was a very emotional issue for me but Laura put me at my ease and explained everything to me. Laura took the time to ask about my Mum and our family and was very thoughtful and caring through out the appointment. Many thanks Laura

Asking if I want to draw out more of less then £2000 OUTSIDE the bank, I told your staff member this is something I will talk about inside the bank, they wouldnt let me in until I told then I wanted more then 2k, now all the passers by, on lookers and muggers know I'm leaving the bank with more then 2k in my pocket, this is not looking after your customers at all. Very unsafe.

Horrible coustomer service. There is lots of staff just standing not helping at all. Its better to close permanently.
