This was our second stay here and we we already can't wait for another trip. Jo is ever so lovely! The cottage is well equipped and with everything you need. We were initially disappointed that we couldn't use the hot tub, but all things considered, a wise decision and we were just so glad to have been able to visit the area again.
It is the perfect base for going out walking with the dogs, we went out to all sorts of places - Sale Fell, Ling fell, Buttermere, Loweswater....all just a short drive away!
2nd visit to Ellen Hall this year, but a different cottage this time. Again a wonderful stay in such a lovely place. Our 2 dogs and us enjoyed the winter walking and coming back to light the log burner.
Cosy, warm, secluded and quiet...just how we like it.

Me and my fiancee stayed in Salkfield Cottage for 3 nights last week, everything was absolutely perfect.. The cottage was beautiful, and exactly as described. Although the weather on two of the days was horrible the cottage was so warm and cosy with the wood burner that if anything it added to the experience!!
Hosts helpful and accommodating and great location to explore from.
Would definitely fully recommend and we will definitely be back next year!

Has a lovely few days here, great peaceful location, cottage had everything you needed. The hot tub was fantastic & overlooks the stream. Jo was lovely very accomodating,
Cosy very well equipped cottage in a good and peaceful location. Comfortable and very clean and tidy. Very warm welcome from owner and very helpful suggesting places to visit. Our first visit but will definitely will be back
