Best Western Premier Collection Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Cambridge

We recently stayed in a standard double room; while the bed was comfortable and the pillows were acceptable; the ceiling fan was held one by a single wire rending it in operative. Similarly the bathroom door would not open all the way due to the uneven floor. The TV in the room was not programmed in so there were not any channels we could watch of the evening time. Similarly the jacuzzi was out of operation and the booking/management of the spa facilities were in disarray. Breakfast was average, I ordered poached eggs on toast with bacon instead received eggs and bacon with toast on top! We arrived at 8:30 (30 minutes into service) and we were informed that they had already run out of baked beans! Disappointing for my vegetarian girlfriend. - [ ] Where do we even begin. Due to the recent Covid announcements our already compromised wedding plans were totally scuppered. Yet with just 48 hours notice, Quy Mill pulled out all the stops and quite literally saved our day! We had the most amazing nights stay and private dining experience ever. The manager, Michelle, was fantastic and organised everything, even giving my husband and I, as well as our parents, complimentary upgrades! Despite being in no position to be picky, Michelle still offered us other rooms if we didn’t like the 4 poster suite on offer (which, by the way, was stunning and so comfortable). The amazing service didn’t stop with Michelle though. Once we arrived, we were greeted by Charles who, despite there only being the 6 of us, created such an atmosphere and really ‘got the party started’. We were amazed to see personalised menus with our names and the wedding date on, as well as a beautiful laid out table with a cake stand and knife in the corner. We were happy enough that they could accommodate us for a simple meal at such short notice but to go above and beyond like this was incredibly kind and we owe a lot of the magic of the day to Quy Mill. The food was incredible and cooked to such a great standard. We loved that the chef came in to check that everything was okay. It was this attention to detail and pride in their work that really amazed us. The other waiters were amazing too, as were all members of staff that we crossed paths with. All staff acknowledged us around the hotel with a smile and a hello. As stated, the bedrooms were incredible- very clean and comfortable. We also had breakfast the morning after. This was included in the room rate and was just as impressive. We were given a menu for either cooked or continental breakfast and there was a surprising amount of choice. The overall experience was fantastic and we cannot wait to come back in the future. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, even just for stay, but mainly for a function and especially for a wedding! The grounds are beautiful with a sweet little bridge and bandstand on the hill. Should you stay here, you will genuinely be in great hands!

Staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough to help. Our evening meal was delicious and the service was excellent. Very enjoyable and would definitely recommend.
