On Mount Buic, in the hamlet of the same name, it is possible to tackle various paths and, of these, the most challenging is the n 8 "purple path" (Winch of the mines) and, once you reach the top (about 60 '... tiring uphill), you can admire a splendid view of Mont Blanc and the Dente del Gigante. Furthermore, at the Granier entrance (n.3 and n.9) you will notice a trolley that was once used in the descendery of the anthracite-coal mine of La Thuile historically connected to the mines of Cogne. It is a niche route, much less crowded and decidedly more "solitary" than other more touristy and crowded itineraries in the area (Rutor Falls, for example). Particularly recommended for lovers of geology, mineralogy and history ... and of course nature! The historical-descriptive panels of the mining area and the surrounding area that you will notice along the way are interesting. N.B .: I would like to point out that the path n.8 deserves attention in some points, especially if done with children in tow and a minimum of habit of walking in the mountains because, even if short, it is almost all uphill.

Short but demanding climb from the Buic, but absolutely worth it. This is how a territory is enhanced!

Nice trail, excellent signage. Too bad little known but deserves more not overly challenging but no benches or fountains at the beginning path
