Magical place, too bad it is now necessary to rent a helmet at the disproportionate price of 5 euros each. However, very nice route, especially when there are few people. I don't understand why the end of the guided path is indicated at 3/4 of the way .. Honestly we ventured further to reach the pool and there were no obstacles, indeed, the path was even easier than the previous one .. A visit, even just to stay cool one afternoon, is worth it.

The main attraction of the reserve is a deep and long gorge, which can be visited in the summer, when the waters of the stream that crosses it are low. Access to the gorge or Orrido is regulated, for information you can go to the garrison of the Carabinieri (ex Forestale) near the entrance to the Orrido or call the Lucca office. Access to the remaining parts of the reserve is free and with a little luck you can see the eagle nesting on the spot and from which the restaurant bar "il Nido dell'Acquisto" takes its name. Continuing on, the road leads on one side to Montefegatesi, a characteristic mountain village popular also for the monument to Dante Alighieri. On the other side, the "Ducale" road continues and after passing the Casentini refuge you will arrive at Foce a Giovo and continuing further you would arrive, if the road were easily practicable, in Modena.
