As already mentioned several times, the entry point is not easy to find. So that you now have more of nature and less of searching, the coordinates are: "43.236357 10.717270". The parking lot, if you believe the card, is the picnic area !? In any case, signs here point out flora and fauna. The entrance is then on the other side of the street at the fields. Discreetly overgrown, a sign shows the direction. If you follow the old way to work, red and white markings and some signs show the way. Well written out and marked in itself. The path is great for dogs as there is plenty of shade and watering holes everywhere. Nevertheless, one should be careful, because the encounter with snakes is possible, as it happened to us. It wasn't enough for a photo, because I preferred to quickly hold the dog back from the hissing snake. When, after a little shock, I had turned off all parties, she had unfortunately already disappeared into the undergrowth. According to my research, it was a wrath snake and therefore non-toxic. I hope you have more luck on a great snake photo.

We did the hike from the parking lot, and hiked around Paggio Castiglione. Here the GPS data for the parking lot 43 ° 14'08.8 "N 10 ° 43'02.3" E (copy and paste in the search field on maps). From the parking lot you can do other routes (e.g. waterfall), even BMX should be possible. The tour leads back to the parking lot and goes on narrow, well-marked paths around Paggio Castiglione, it is approx. 8km long. Just TOP Tip for starting the tour: From the parking lot, follow Strada Provinciale dei Quattro Comuni (SP 18) in the direction of Cecina / Voltera for about 50m, then take the path (red / white marking) to the right. If you walk the road about 500m in the direction of Canneto you can get on the big tour, which we want to tackle in the next vacation.
