Absolutely first class. We had a wonderful week of relaxation and recuperation. The staff were a joy - relaxed and still utterly professional. Then the 'piece de resistance' was most certainly the food. Top top quality, all throughout the week. Clearly a passion of this wonderfully run family business. We cant wait to return next year.
I can't but recommend this lovely place.
I wasn't a guest here - I was visiting a couple of friends for new year's eve. Nonetheless, the staff welcomed us as warmly as their patrons. We chatted the whole evening with Elmar, Alex, and the staff (which names I've forgotten, my bad!), which were very eager to exchange opinion on their vision for Pennhof. They offered even to help us get in touch with local producers.
Their hotel is located halfway on a mountain in Barbiano, high enough to have a wonderful view of the valley. It's an oasis of quietness and relax, and comes with a games room, a spa and a stylish wooden pool.
Alpine paradise.
Most beautiful mountain panorama.
Best selection of local organic food.
Cuisine full of passion and love.
Best place for your battery recharge.
Beautiful Bio Hotel located on the Western part of the A22 valley between Klausen and Bozen. The breakfast and dinner delicious. The room, calm, cozy and modern. Super friendly waiters offer a welcome aperitif as soon as you arrive. We didn't try sauna and pool because I was there with kids under 14, but enjoyed all the toys instead and the kids want to go there soon again!
A truly fantastic place that IMHO punches well above its official 3-star rating: The photos you see on the web aren't some touched up postcard fantasies but really depict what you get. Both the owners and their staff are lovely and will do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The food is great (I'm starting to run out of superlative adjectives here): Locally sourced, organic and, with vegan or gluten free options that are so much more than just window-dressing, as wholesome and healthy as you want it to be. And finally, if you're into that sort of thing, tasting everything from the small-but-handpicked list of modestly priced, locally produced wines and spirits (pine tree seed Schnapps, anyone?) will keep you entertained for at least a week.
The only reason not to give this place five stars would be to keep it from being crowded when visit the next time.
