At the Siele mine I arrived during an excursion in the Pigelleto reserve, from a path inside the reserve. The entrance from the street is in fact normally closed and I believe it is necessary to go to the Proloco of Piancastagnaio for a guided tour. Arriving "from outside" you can see the external structures of the mine and in particular the imposing ovens for the extraction of mercury. There are numerous panels that tell the story of the mine, closed since the 80s. The ensemble has an undoubted charm, even if a general feeling of abandonment remains.
