Until the late 1800s, Saiori was an inhabited village. In summer, haymaking took place and the animals were taken to pasture. The village has become depopulated due to water shortages. The only source was a small spring above the houses, now completely dry. Adjacent to the source there was a drinking trough which has recently been removed by unknown persons.
