Nice route but unfortunately with signs that leaves something to be desired and underestimated travel times.

Passing saddle immersed in the bush along the 00-Pisa path (in the stretch from Passo di Dante to Ripafratta) to which several secondary paths converge. In addition to the main road that follows the saddle (going up towards the nearby Quattro Venti) there are paths that go up the Monte Moriglione di Penna (and from here it goes down to Santa Maria a Monte) and down, one side of the valley. Serchio towards Molina di QUosa and the other towards Lucca, direction San Lorenzo a Vaccoli.
